This is the entry page to the Walter Jantschik material on Parareligion: from his entry into the Fraternitas Saturni in 1964 and the unresolved 18° question surrounding a sexual-magical episode of about 1965, to the brief Grand Mastership of 1969, the later order memberships, GOTOS, the Ordo Baphometis, primary texts, documents and video testimony.
Reading note: Jantschik's aliases and titles belong to different periods and organisations; they are not a single continuous grade sequence. Dates that cannot be documented precisely are marked accordingly.
About a year after joining the F.S., in 1965, Jantschik later described a sexual-magical episode that he associated with the 18° (Gradus Pentalphae). The surviving documents do not establish whether it was an 18° ritual, a formal initiation or a conferral of the grade.
During the Fraternitas Saturni Lodge's Easter assembly on April 5th–6th 1969, members who had seceded from the Frankfurt F.S. — though without Walter Englert and his IO/O.T.O. — united themselves once more with the Mother-Lodge. Karl Wedler enthroned the new Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge Fraternitas Saturni: Walter Jantschik/Jananda (born November 9th 1939, 4°, 8°), who had been a member since April 1964. Jantschik was a civil servant in the Ministry of Justice and wished to found an esoteric university within the F.S., which would confer qualifications of Doctor and Professor to those submitting a dissertation.
Jantschik resigned from his post six months after taking office, but remained on the board for the time being. He was followed in the autumn by the 40-year-old Pole Wicha/Andrzey, who had only joined the F.S. half a year before, as Grandmaster of the F.S. — he had been accepted at the same Easter Lodge in 1969 where Jantschik became Grandmaster. A further indication of the farce into which this office had turned.
“Why I resigned as Grandmaster was mainly due to intrigues from all sides, etc. Giovanni [Karl Wedler] wanted to be appointed as an honorary member, as did his wife [...] Since my resignation from the F.S. in 1970/71 I had no more contact with this lodge.” [Jantschik, letter of 2.3.1990]
On May 6th 1970 Paul-Günther Diefenthal, who was a member of the F.S., shot Walter Jantschik's brother-in-law Josef Göttler, allegedly following the “orders of Baphomet”. Details appear in my books on the F.S.
His interests broadened, and he became a member of the A.M.O.R.C., the Golden Order, Josef Grasser's Stephanios “Loge Kether” in Paris, and AMOOKOS. Under the alias of Aythos he wrote a booklet about the F.S. published in 1979 in Friedrich-Wilhelm Haack's collection of documents.
Within the O.T.O.A. he wrote under the initials CCD in 1983, while in 1981 he had first been Brother Antomedon. Later he used the title Levum in the Ordo Saturni, and as a member of Michael Aquino's Temple of Set.
Before this, in 1980, Jantschik had been a co-founder of the German branch of the “Caliphate”, where there were members of the Temple of Set — and formerly Scientologists as well. By 1989, now using the alias CIT, Jantschik became Baphometor in his Ordo Baphometis, and by the end of that year resigned from all the aforementioned orders, thereafter focusing on his O.B. only.

The third volume on the Fraternitas Saturni follows Johannes Maikowski — Foreign Legionnaire, prisoner in the Stasi prison Berlin-Rummelsburg, twice Grand Master, and later involved with Communitas Saturni, Communitas Solis and the Grossloge Gregor A. Gregorius / GAG.

Myth: The central concept in F.S. lodges is that of the lodge Egregore (group spirit), called GOTOS and represented as a bust. GOTOS is also said to be the highest rank in the F.S. (from “Gradus Ordo Templi Orientis Saturni”).

Johannes Maikowski, a member since 1950/1955, was appointed by Eugen Grosche as his successor and Grandmaster of the Fraternitas Saturni in December 1963. He was re-elected by his own adherents in 1964/65. In 1983 a competing F.S. elected a new Grandmaster, prompting him to abandon the lodge name that same year. In 1993 he founded several lodges, including the Communitas Saturni and the Grossloge Gregor A. Gregorius der FS in Kaiserslautern (GAG). Dual memberships existed with the Ordo Templi Orientis and regular Freemasonry. Maikowski soon declared his own lodge foundations null and void, although some continued to exist. In 2003 the GAG united with the formerly competing Fraternitas Saturni in Berlin. Maikowski continued to regard himself as the only legitimate Grandmaster.
