Care Fr.·.Beatus:
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
I must apologize for my delay in answering your kind letter of
15.II.67. I had been contending with a coronary heart condition which I
first experienced some seven years ago, but which I have always been
reluctant to discuss or admit. At present I am coming along fine.
Chances are, I might still be around in this plane of the living dear
for at least one more decade, which I would hope to dedicate to work,
study and consequently, brighten a little more the small ray of Light
which I have thus far garnered, after so many years as a student on the
Path. My aspiration does not die, much to the contrary; neither
disappointment nor suffering lessen my motivation towards the noble
Thelemic ideal.
I am glad progress is being made at Stein, and pray the efforts being
made there by all of you, shall be well rewarded. Stein is indeed a
little bit of heaven; were it near one of the great metropolies here,
it would have long ago disappeared. Here in America, change, agitation
and turmoil is the order of the day. War and rumors of more war. The
academic communities appear to be in an uproar. There are those who are
ready to use the Sacred Teachings to further their own pet theories and
personal ends; those who quote AC's writings and take advantage of the
message Thelema has to offer, but fashioned after their own concepts.
These people are not willing to identify themselves with AC or with
Thelema. In most cases, their presentation amounts to a lot of
ill-assorted nonesense [sic]. So, my dear Brother, even though progress
there, does not appear to move as fast as you would like to see it
move, rejoice and be exceedingly glad, because of Stein and what it
represents, in its work and in the fraternity of its Gnostic community.
We moved to a new address in the outskirts of San Francisco in order
to get away from the smog area and three flights of stairs. Please take
note of my new address.
Re the book. I am sorry I do not have an extra Book of Thoth. I only
have my personal copy, and also AC's autographed copy to Sr. Stai,
(Jane Wolf) which I inherited from her. However, now that I have
unpacked most of my books, will see what I can send you. It will
probably be a copy of The Equinox of the Gods.
Thanks again for the pictures. I shall be very glad to hear from you
again. Please give my fraternal greetings to all at Stein. Will write
to Sr. Chockmah [A. Aeschbach] and Fra.·.Paragranus [Metzger].
With my very best wishes for you and Sr. Barbara.
Love is the law, love under will.

P.S. Am enclosing newspaper cut - out of such activities as I mention
on paragraph 2.
